Annapurna

Annapurna is known for being the first peak over 8,000 meters to be climbed, by Maurice Herzog in 1950. The Annapurna Circuit is one of the most beautiful treks due to its diversity of landscapes — from the lower Marsyangdi Valley with its terraced fields and distant mountain views to the high Manang Valley at the foot of the great Himalayan peaks. This trek passes through many villages of different ethnic groups from one valley to another. The side trip to the glacial Tilicho Lake is magnificent.
